Harkness Henry is pleased to announce the ministerial appointment of Dr Joan Forret as a new member of the Waikato University Council. A press release was published by Education Minister Chris Hipkins on 8 May 2018 regarding her appointment. Click here to view the press release.
Joan has been with the firm since 2001 and was appointed a Partner in 2009. She holds a PhD in law from Waikato University as well as bachelor degrees in Law (Waikato University), Arts (history) and Science (chemistry) the latter both from Otago University. Joan advises clients on resource management and planning issues as well as alcohol licensing. She is currently a Vice President of the Waikato branch of the Property Council and has previously chaired the Waikato branch of the Resource Management Law Association. Joan is an Honorary Lecturer in Resource Management at Waikato University and is looking forward to strengthening her long association with the university through this new governance role.
