Robert is a member of the firm’s Employment and Resource Management team and specialises in environmental, alcohol licensing, employment and health law.
He joined Harkness Henry in November 2014, having previously worked as an environmental planner for a local authority, the director of a small planning consultancy, and then as a senior complaints assessor at the Health and Disability Commissioner’s office in Auckland.
Since joining the firm, Robert has acted on a range of matters across these practice areas, including advocating for clients in employment mediations and appearing before district licensing committees, the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority, independent resource consent hearings, both the Environment and High courts, and the Employment Relations Authority.
Robert’s university studies concentrated on resource management, local government and employment law. His role at the Health and Disability Commissioner’s office gives him valuable insight into complaints resolution processes involving providers and consumers of health and disability services.
While at university, Robert won the country’s negotiation competition, placed third in the Australian competition, and went on to represent New Zealand at the international competition in the United States.
Robert is part of a team with extensive experience in resource management, employment and alcohol licensing matters.
