Jessica specialises in Trust and Estate litigation – acting for trustees, executors and beneficiaries.
In addition to guiding trustees and beneficiaries through disputes arising under the Trusts Act 2019, she also advises clients on matters such as challenging the validity of wills; making claims under the Family Protection or Testamentary Promises legislation; and defending applications made by others against an estate.
Jessica also advises clients on a broad range of private and commercial disputes, acting for individuals and companies, debtors and creditors.
She appears regularly in the Family, District and High Courts, but also works effectively to achieve results for clients without the need for court processes through alternative dispute resolution.
Jessica graduated from the University of Waikato with a bachelor of laws and a bachelor of arts majoring in French. She commenced her legal career at Harkness Henry in 2011 and later spent two years practising in Western Australia on complex litigation before returning to the Harkness Henry litigation team in 2017.
