Community

Harkness Henry is actively involved in the community by contributing our time, expertise and financial support to a variety of Waikato organisations who work for the good of our region.  This support includes:

  • Providing pro-bono advice to select community and charitable organisations
  • Staff volunteering at Community Law Waikato
  • Sponsorship of Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Netball team
  • Sponsorship of, and attendance at, community and charity events
  • Fundraising throughout the year for various charities
  • A close association with Te Piringa, Waikato Law School including the provision of judges for local and national competitions
  • Acting member on Waikato Bay of Plenty Football Disciplinary Committee
  • Staff acting as Trustees on the following Boards:

In 2016, Harkness Henry celebrated twenty five years of sponsorship of the annual Harkness Henry lecture.  The lecture, held in conjunction with The University of Waikato Te Piringa - Faculty of Law, is delivered by an individual distinguished within his or her field and addresses issues relating to the development of New Zealand jurisprudence.  Previous distinguished speakers are:
