Phil is a Consultant in Harkness Henry’s Litigation team with extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation. He advises businesses, insolvency practitioners, creditors and individuals on a wide range of disputes, with particular expertise in insolvency, debt recovery, contractual disputes and creditor enforcement matters.
Before entering private practice, Phil worked with the New Zealand Insolvency and Trustee Service for almost 20 years, including as a Deputy Assignee. He has practised as a litigation lawyer since 2000 and has developed a reputation for providing practical, commercially focused advice and effective dispute resolution strategies.
Phil represents clients through all stages of the dispute resolution process, from providing strategic advice and conducting negotiations through to court proceedings. He has significant experience acting in corporate and personal insolvency matters, debt recovery claims, commercial disputes and other complex litigation proceedings.
Known for his pragmatic approach and strong advocacy skills, Phil works closely with clients to understand their objectives and deliver clear, effective solutions to often challenging legal issues.
